Social Media Questionnaire Feedback

Main Product - Results

Most of our recipients responded just as I'd expected, a more mature audience due to the sensitive topics.

Here we have got a wide spread on how often people watch films, it is only a representative response but we are happy to say that films are very popular and the majority of people actively watch them weekly.
This response speaks out to us and shows us really how our product is only reaching a seriously niche audience, with that said, we can now look into some marketing techniques in order to reach this niche target audience. This result is unsurprising to me as I didn't expect short films to be a popular subject.
Clarification: The left bracket says: 'I've pretty much liked all the short films I've seen'.

This answer was also somewhat predictable. With all things, this really just depends on peoples opinions. However, there will be some which are critically successful and are enjoyed by everyone and some which really fail on grasping their audience's interests.

Clarification: The Blue Bracket says: 'Screenings at cinema's/before a feature film' (e.g. Pixar Films)

This was interesting. I was surprised YouTube was the most selected, considering a generally higher age group answering the questionnaire. Still, it means that online distribution is a viable, if not essential, option for low-budget productions. However, I am most surprised that no one selected the social media section as I myself have seen many short films on Facebook. Although surprising, it offers useful insight into how everyone else actually watches films.

This question is slightly vague, but nevertheless surprising as a directors job is to portray the story by using the amount of shots necessary, it would be useless adding in sections of film purely to fill time. However, with our project we have only been given 5 minutes, so this is slightly irrelevant to us.

This result really reinforces what my group has been saying, the majority of people that filled out the questionnaire agrees that the story is the most important aspect of a short film. Going forward, we will be spending a lot of time focusing on the story line for our short film.

We are very happy that nobody explicitly mentioned a dislike of social realism; this means that we have made the correct decision with our genre choice. It's now on us to create a good piece of work that will satisfy our target audience.

Clarification: Turquoise bracket: 'It depends on the topic; some social issues need to be shown, while others don't matter too much." Green bracket: "Quite important; there are a lot of social issues the media can show most people don't realise."

This result is great for us. It shows an acceptance on the part of our audience to a more message-based product that is able to reach out to them as opposed to a product that is simply used for entertainment purposes.

Clarification: Orange: ' Anxiety among young people.' Blue: 'Male Suicide/Depression'.

This result is ideal, because our piece is centred around loneliness and anxiety in a specific character our age. This shows how we're touching on topics people feel are rarely covered.

Ancillary Products - Results

This question was placed in order to determine the scope of the audience for a review page. As this is my main responsibility, the results below are important to me and how I am going to be creating my product.
The results here are interesting, they show a tendency to physical copies we didn't expect. Our group is definitely going to adjust their approach to these products based on these results. Nevertheless, the product will definitely be created on a digital platform.

This result is coherent with the conventions for the genre that we have chosen, which means that I have a solid basis on which to create my product.
