Preliminary Plot Blocking Graph

Image
Before finalising our ideas and putting them into the final pitch, we created a few scene cards in order to make it much clearer the 'reality' portion of or piece described in the short film final research post. Clear scene cards to get the plot down This is helpful before moving into the production planning stage. It allows us to build character, dialogue and shot concepts on a clear base. Although preliminary, it really does give us a feel as to what we will be creating with our film. It may be very brief but we feel like this is a very good start. We opened up a dialogue with James a few days ago that was really insightful. Not only does he understand and agree with what we're trying to do, but it shows us how willing he was to suggest and engage with our story idea. Overall, I feel confident moving into the production stages now.

Progress Update 7

I am currently very happy with where I am in relation to the schedule and my other group members. I have just finished the entire researching portion of the course. Before moving onto the planning section however, I wanted to post a short composed post on what I have got planned for the upcoming work. Next on the list, is to make a plot blocking graph, which is essentially a really brief story-line of the short film. Also, collating some tutorials for the software and hardware that we are using is an important next step because we must become very confident with our equipment before we start the production. Furthermore, model release forms, risk assessments and cast lists are upcoming soon. For a bit more information on this, see below. First potential actor: Isaac Cutting Second potential actor: James May Third potential actor: Alex Raynor Each one of these people have got some form of history in acting and this is really going to feed nicely in...

Social Media Questionnaire Feedback

Image
Main Product - Results Most of our recipients responded just as I'd expected, a more mature audience due to the sensitive topics. Here we have got a wide spread on how often people watch films, it is only a representative response but we are happy to say that films are very popular and the majority of people actively watch them weekly. This response speaks out to us and shows us really how our product is only reaching a seriously niche audience, with that said, we can now look into some marketing techniques in order to reach this niche target audience. This result is unsurprising to me as I didn't expect short films to be a popular subject. Clarification: The left bracket says: 'I've pretty much liked all the short films I've seen'. This answer was also somewhat predictable. With all things, this really just depends on peoples opinions. However, there will be some which are critically successful and are enjoyed by everyone and some which real...

Pilot Questionnaire Feedback

We chose a sample group of students from our Media Studies group to fill out our pilot questionnaire. Here are the suggested improvements that we collated from each questionnaire that was filled out:

Progress Update 6

After falling behind on my work due to some personal issues outside of school and having wrote off my car, being unable to get to the locations that we have picked to film at, I have fallen behind of the schedule we set. However, with these issues being resolved and in the process of getting a new car, I am now starting to catch up with the work I have missed. I have committed to attending afterschool sessions in order to help me with catching up on the work that I have missed. Luckily, the other members of my group have been understanding and they're both still on top of their work.
